My whole life has been about Trucks. Ever since I was born, sparks were flying over my head while I was in my crib, cutting my teeth on a Cummins rubber fuel pump star. So naturally I have a passion that rivals most veteran truckers at the young age I am. My second passion is Motocross. This came along and I fell in love, the freedom of flying through the air or lining up at a gate with 40 other riders at a National event can sure get your adrenaline pumping. So when my dad decided we needed a new mode of transportation to the track; his idea was, like always a 359 Peterbilt, but with a twist. My Dad, the “mastermind”, started with a 1985 359 short hood, powered by a 400 B model Caterpillar, with a 13 speed and 2:73 ratio rear ends. The centerpiece is the cab. We took two 359 cabs cut, stretched, bent, and massaged them into place to look like a factory built 4 door. The idea he proposed to me before we started, was to say the least weird in my opinion. But you should always trust someone with a little more know how and experience because the end product is a stunning, and beautiful piece of art hand crafted by my Dad. From the frame up, he has put every effort into it staying up until 1 o'clock in the morning building the cab, to washing it and prepping it before big races. I'm proud to be a part of such an amazing family and proud to have the opportunity to showcase my truck in the Chrome & Elegance calendar. - Tanner Wilkins
