Craig Roddy, Jr. Owner/Operator of Rodco Trucking has been a family operated business since 1992 and I located in Raceland, Louisiana. We mainly haul raw sugar to the Dominoes Sugar refinery located in Arabie, Louisiana, but we also do a lot of ground work by hauling sand, dirt, gravel, and limestone. This is my first new Peterbilt; I've rebuilt a 2000 model from the ground up and owned a 2005 379, but this is my first 389 and I have another one on order. This truck set up on low low air leaf with air ride front axle, 280" wheelbase, 48" sleeper, 525 Cummins, 18 speed transmission, 3:55 rear ends. I have a floor to paint to put inside, twin stick shifts, a flush deck plate, but never get to shut the truck down long enough to install these ad ons. I pull a 2011 Travis Quarter frame Vertex trailer. We have a tendency to name our trucks; I call this one the pimp truck cause I hire other trucks to work for me from time to time. I have a personalized license plate PMPN8EZ (pimping ain't easy) as all truckers know it is a tough business but its a living.
I grew up following my dad's footsteps in the trucking industry and I
enjoy every bit of it. I guess I can say I have Diesel in my blood. |
