Jeff Barnes / 2007 Legacy Edition Peterbilt

For more than a decade, Jeff Barnes’ reputation has stood for superior flatbed transportation service and long-standing customer relationships.  No matter what you need hauled . . . fabricated steel, industrial machinery, pipe and tubing, lumber, plywood, paper products, skid loads and much more . . . his company has the experience to get your load safely where it needs to go.

In 2002, Jeff started a single-truck operation called J&S Enterprises that is located in Rochester, Washington.  A couple of years later, he took advantage of some opportunities, added another truck and slowly began to expand his business throughout Washington, Oregon, and California.  (and interstate authority to operate in all 48 states).  These days, Jeff spends most of his time arranging loads and dispatching, and occasionally working his 2007 Peterbilt locally. His operation currently consists of seven trucks, five of which are owner/operators.  All of the equipment at J&S Enterprises consists of newer model Peterbilt tractors that pull customized, 48' x 102" roll-top trailers. 

In April 2010, Jeff purchased the 2007 Legacy Edition Peterbilt (#316 of 1,000) from a picture seen on the internet and listed as a “show truck”.  What he intended to be a “small project” to spruce it up a bit quickly turned into a six-week makeover with Bill & Dave Abernethy at Commercial Collision & Paint in Medford, Oregon.  All of the truck, including the frame, was sandblasted clean and a new two-color paint scheme with "Graphite Effect" and "Silver Effect" was sprayed. Additional cab panels and fenders were added as well as other custom touches.  The result is the currently featured truck for the month of January in the 2014 Chrome & Elegance calendar. 

Jeff’s ride has a 625 Cat, an 18-speed transmission, 3.36 gears and low-profile rubber all around. It also has a car-hauler front axle with Low Low AirLeaf suspension.

Jeff takes great pride that all of the ‘J&S’ drivers are seasoned professionals. Their combined years of over-the-road experience is a powerful attribute and a large part of the company’s success. He is proud to say that each driver is working on at least their second or third 1,000,000-mile mark on the odometer!
